Finance Council

Appointed membership advises the Pastor on parish fiscal issues. This advisory committee is required by Canon Law, and functions adhering to the norms given in Canon Law and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and meets bi‐monthly.

Pastoral Council

Composed of appointed, and ex‐officio parishioners and staff members who advise the pastor in setting goals for the spiritual and pastoral life of the parish. The Council seeks and recommends appropriate activities to the various parish ministries and organizations. This council meets every two months on Tuesday Evenings, beginning in September.

Fundraising/Development Committee

Composed of appointed and ex officio parish staff and parishioners, who advise the pastor concerning fundraising for, and the general promotion of Holy Cross Parish, School, and community.

Liturgy Committee

Members are dedicated to learning about the theology and practice of the Sacred Liturgy so that they can oversee and promote the highest quality of worship. This advisory committee meets on the First Thursday of each month in the Convent. Lay‐Members are appointed by the Pastor (from the various liturgical ministries of the Parish: Music Coordinator, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ushers, and Parish School and DRE Representatives), along with the Parish Deacons and Priests, who meet to review up‐coming liturgical celebrations and to prepare materials needed for optimal participation by the people.

Social Committee

A team of parishioners who plan social events throughout the year, providing opportunities to come together to get to know each other better.

Garden Committee

A team of parishioners with an interest in gardening which oversees the design and maintenance of the landscaping on the parish grounds. Their goal is to achieve a pleasing atmosphere that welcomes and delights people as they come to worship and work together.

Respect Life Committee

This group seeks to provide information, encouragement and activities for parishioners in all areas of concern regarding respect for all human life from the womb to the hour of natural death. Specific works performed:

• Group recitation of the Holy Rosary daily, following the 8:30 AM Mass
• Participation in the Annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. each January 22, the day the Supreme Court allowed abortion to become a legal act
• Support efforts and activities of the Delaware County Pro‐Life Coalition
• Support Mother’s Home by hosting a Rose Sale each Respect Life Sunday in October
• Maintain a Respect Life Pamphlet rack in Church Vestibule
• Organize Giving Tree in church for parish to provide for families in need during Christmas season
• Pray the Rosary outside of Planned Parenthood in Media, PA, every Saturday, from 12 Noon to 1 PM
